The objective of doctoral degree study evaluation
The Evaluation of doctoral degree students (HSDS) application is used by Ph.D. students to report their publication
and creative activity, research on projects, teaching at the Department and other activities. Students are granted
points for their reported achievements and, based on their point evaluation, they may be financially rewarded by
a special scholarship. The special scholarship amount is calculated as a linear function of awarded points.
Students who were in full-time attendance during the evaluation period are eligible for an exceptional scholarship based on HSDS points.
form of study and who have obtained more than the minimum number of points determined by the relevant Opatření děkana.
(Definition of non-fulfilment of study obligations under doctoral study).
If the student has not been in full-time study for the entire evaluation period, the calculated amount will be reduced proportionally.
The total amount allocated for special scholarships is approved by the Faculty Management on a proposal from
the Vice-Dean for Science and Research (SR).
Reporting and approval process
The report is filled in once a year, and all Ph.D. students are obliged to fill in the form pursuant to the
Code of Practice for Doctoral Degree Study currently in force. It lists the achievements for the previous academic year.
The Ph.D. student is obliged to fill in the report by the 1st deadline, the Supervisor must approve
the report by the 1st deadline, and the Head of Department must approve it by the 2nd deadline.
The following deadlines have been set for the current period of 2023/2024:
- 1st deadline 19.9.2024, 14:00 hours (filled in by the Ph.D. student, approved by the supervisor)
- 2nd deadline 25.9.2024, 13:00 hours (approved by the Head of Department)
Branch Board Chairs are entitled to look at the evaluation of the students in their branch.
The evaluation processing process runs as follows:

the Head of Department, they must contact the Vice-Dean for SR no later than within 3 working days,
and the Vice-Dean for SR will look into the matter without delay.
Evaluated categories
Inputs for categories A to D are automatically read from the V3S system.
So that a Ph.D. student can report these achievements, they must fill them in the V3S system. The changes can be
seen immediately. The entry in V3S cannot be in the state "Rozpracováno/Being processed". Such an entry is
considered as incomplete and cannot be seen outside V3S. The state "Dokončeno/Completed" can already be seen.
The achievements listed in the Register of Artistic Outputs (RUV) are imported into the HSDS application all at once
before the respective period is opened. Only achievements in the "Certifikováno/Certified" state can be entered
there. Achievements from the year 2022 are reported (resulting from the methodology of entering achievements in RUV).
Categories E to H are filled in manually by a Ph.D. student.
Points in categories A, B, C and D are divided by the number of co-authors. The supervisor and supervisor-specialist
are not counted as co-authors.
In order not to disadvantage the students who only started their study in the spring semester, their sum of points
in categories A to F is multiplied by two.

Frequent questions
I have published an article in a high-impact journal, but no Scopus identifier has been assigned to it yet.
If you are sure that your article will be assigned a Scopus identifier, you can report it in the category
"article in a high-impact journal in WoS or in Scopus…". It is, however, necessary to attach a proof to the report
(e.g. article scan from the journal). Otherwise, your points will be deducted.
HelpDesk
If you encounter an error while using the application, the following people can help you.
Each department has its own officer in charge of the V3S system. Please contact him/her with your request for help with V3S.
Mr Ing. Miloslav Hůla will help to correct mistakes and answer
questions related to the application itself. For example:
- I have filled in the respective publication in V3S or RUV, but cannot see it in this application.
- As a supervisor I am in charge of five Ph.D. students, but I can only see three.
- The application has displayed information about an error which I do not understand.
Please do not hesitate to contact him also with your proposals to improve the application. Thank you.
